Feeling romantic? Good! Romance is fun stuff (and definitely contagious). However it’s important that you understand a few things, and let the roses petals fall naturally. So, before you break out the candles, bubbly and the hot/cold massage oil, take a minute to think about the following tips.
In A Romantic Mood? It’s Time To Get Intimate
Whenever you find yourself in a romantic mood, one of the first things you need to do is gauge the “temperature” of your partner. Are they aware of your flirty inclinations? Do they seem ready for a little lovin’? Or, do you still have some prep work to do to before you have them seeing pink?
What should you do if you aren’t sure whether or not your partner is open for romance? Start by warming them up through sweet romantic gestures such as reserving some one on one time with them without any distractions (no cell phones and no TV).
Be Personal
So now that they are warmed up, what’s the next step? Easy: action mode. While taking your partner out to dinner or buying them flowers are always crowd pleasers, more personalized romantic gestures are usually much more powerful. For instance, if you take the gift route, forget conventional, expensive, or flashy. Instead, surprise them with something that screams: “I understand you”, or “I pay attention to what you say, do or need”.
Similarly, if you decide to hit the town, don’t make a beeline to the most stereo typically romantic spot in town. An upscale dinner is always nice, but a date specifically catered to your partner’s personality is even better. Dating a movie buff? Why not check out the drive in they have been dying to visit? No matter what your partner enjoys, you can tailor a date specifically to them. You may have to get creative, but the extra effort will definitely be worth it.
Also, if you are in a romantic mood and want things to get a little more sensual, offer them the flavor of seduction they crave. If your partner is turned on by sexy dialogue, talk to them. Tease them with sexy stories, role-playing or explore their hidden fantasies. Or, if touch is their love language, hold their hand, give them a massage, or simply take them in your arms and keep them there. After all, romance isn’t just about fulfilling desires, it’s about showing people how much they mean to you.
Remember The Small Stuff
When trying to revive the passion in a relationship that has gotten a bit boring, don’t underestimate the importance of little things. Just taking the time to tell someone that you appreciate everything they do, or that you are grateful to be with them can instantly kick the romance up a notch. Surprisingly ordinary things like making their favorite breakfast, or doing the laundry (even if it’s not your turn) are a fantastic way to show your partner that you are thinking of them, and you want to make their life a little easier, or a little happier.
What’s another small gesture that scores big? Getting dressed up in one of their favorite outfits for no particular reason at all, or calling your partner during the day just to say “hi”. All of this extra effort adds up, and can help keep your relationship flirty.
Be Adventurous
If you’re in a long-term relationship, you may notice that things aren’t quite as “hot” as they used to be. It’s natural for relationships to get less exciting with time, but they don’t have to. Making an effort to try out new things with your partner is a fantastic way to keep the romance level sky high.
If you partner is excited to find out how you’ll surprise them next, they’ll feel more passionate, and more turned on. Explore your city with your partner, learn something new together, make plans for the future —what matters is that you do it together.
Romantic Texts
Up until now, everything has revolved around being in a romantic mood and physically WITH your partner. So, what do you do if you are in a romantic mood and you are AWAY from your partner? Obviously, send them a romantic text message!
For example:
• Come home soon! I’ll make dinner and you can just be cute…and sexy 😉
• I always feel close to you no matter where you are.
• Look up at the moon. I’m looking at it right now.
• When the world makes you feel ignored, just remember you’re always on my mind.
Make Sure Everyone’s In A Romantic Mood
Next time you find yourself desiring romance, don’t forget to think about your partner’s needs and feelings. Also, remember that romance doesn’t have to be flashy; small gestures can pack just as powerful of a punch as big ones. Romance is good stuff, and even more, it’s a wonderful way to show your partner that you appreciate them.
When it comes to romance, do what feels right; whether that means buying your partner a personalized gift, taking them out to dinner, spending a night snuggling on the couch, or finding something new to try together, it’s the love behind your actions that matters.
